File's done

I used to watch the X-Files on and off back in the day. Like all TV shows, it had its good and bad episodes. The new movie felt like one of those bad episodes when you wondered if all the writers had gone on vacation at the same time.

All the usual X-Files ingredients were there. Psychics, FBI schmucks, mentions of Mulder's sister, a bit of bizarre gore, questions of faith, and the opposites that attract embodied in Mulder and Scully. Sadly, the plot and dialogue were so weak that the only real mystery here is why they could not come up with something better in the years since the show went off.


X-Files was never about concrete answers, it required a leap of faith, but this time around, they never hand you anything to believe in.
